POSTE-FRONTIÈRE DE NOVO SELO-ZLATAREVO

It is located between the municipality of Novo Selo/Ново Село (population 6,900) in Northern Macedonia and the municipality of Petrič/Петрич (population 47,000) in Bulgaria. On the Bulgarian side, it is named Zlatarevo/Златарево after a Bulgarian general from Ohrid. Little frequented, it is one of the three border crossings between the two countries. Once passed, the road still runs along Mount Beles, Strumica and Greece, with 5 km to the east, the interesting park-museum of the fortress of Tsar Samuel.
