ÉTÉ D'OHRID

Founded in 1961, this opera and classical music festival (Охридско Лето/Ohridsko Leto) is the most prestigious in the country, with concerts at Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Ancient Theater, and artists from all over the world. Ohrid also hosts the Balkan Festival of Songs and Folk Games (ohrid.gov.mk) in early July, the Choir Festival (ohridchoirfestival.com) in mid-August and the Troubadour Festival (ohridskitrubaduri.mk) in early September, as well as the Ohrid Swimming Marathon (facebook.com/ohridskiplivackimaraton), a 30 km race in the lake.
