Monterosso al Mare, the largest town in the Cinque Terre, is famous for its production of limoncello, a sweet alcoholic lemon liqueur, but also for its passion for cultivating the yellow citrus fruit, which ripens in May and is the pride of the town's inhabitants! Therefore, in its honor, on the third Sunday of May, the Lemon Festival takes place, a traditional and greedy event, where the streets of Monterosso are decorated, and a prize is awarded to the largest lemon of the day!
