March 19 is the feast day of La Spezia's patron saint, St. Joseph. He has been venerated for a very long time, at least since the 17th century. Nowadays, on the weekend closest to this date, a major festival is held in the city, with both religious and secular celebrations, including a fair and a variety of stalls all over the city, in the beautiful squares, along the quays, in the gardens...
