GHERDEINA MUSEUM

This museum exhibits the best works of sculpture and painting by the artists of Val Gardena, including very moving ancient painted toys, as well as minerals and fossils from the mountains of the region. There is also a magnificent alpine herbarium. In the same building there is a Ladin language library. An area is dedicated to Luis Trenker (1892-1990), a great mountaineer of the country, involved in mountain documentaries and films, who helped to make South Tyrol known. There are also temporary exhibitions. A rich and interesting visit.
