In this town located on the Avlo peninsula, a peninsula that stretches over 5 km between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mono River, time seems to have stopped for good in the colonial era. It must be said that the buildings built during this period are falling into ruins today... when they have not already been swallowed up by the Atlantic Ocean. In spite of everything, the commune keeps a certain charm. Above all, the village of Gbékon has the pier where you can take the pirogues to go to the other bank of the Mono, especially in the village of Hévé. In any case, one can enjoy the lush landscapes typical of this region of Benin.
