THE AIR MANIS BEACH

Padang's most popular beach, it's about an hour's walk along the coast (or a quick minibus ride). According to a well-known local legend, a young man named Malin Kundang ventured out to sea to become a successful merchant, attracting numerous trading ships from all over Asia. These ships carried a variety of goods, including rubber, cinnamon, coffee, tea and coal, contributing to the town's prosperity. Beautiful sunsets.
