The port of Sape serves the neighboring islands of Komodo and Flores. It's located away from the city, on a peninsula that frames a magnificent bay where Bugi sailing boats of various tonnages sail. You can even see boats under construction in the slipways. Although Sape may be considered a small town, it has an authentic charm well worth discovering. If you don't want to walk the 4 km from the port to the town, you can take a dokar or bemo, the picturesque local means of transport, to further explore this fascinating destination.
