Opened in 1993, the iconic Café Batavia is housed in a historic building that was once the home of officers of the Dutch East India Company. The interior, adorned with photos of Hollywood stars, has a real glamorous charm. The kitchen and patisserie are top-notch. Large fans swirl overhead. Lively in the evenings, this café lends itself to a romantic afternoon tea. Good cocktails are also served. On Place Fatahillah, opposite the Jakarta History Museum.
