The main railway station, a beautiful historical monument inspired by the Doge's Palace in Venice, is located west of the centre, about one kilometre from piața Unirii (tram 3, 6 or 7 to reach the square). Direct trains to Bucharest (4 trains per day, 7 hours) and Galați (2 per day). Trains to Suceava with connection to Pașcani (3 per day, 2h30 to 4h).
To buy your train tickets in advance, go to the CFR agency, located piața Unirii, 9-11. It is open Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm. Contact: +40 232 410 024 or +40 731 990 791.
