MIHAI EMINESCU TRUST

A fund created under Ceauşescu, it works to safeguard the Saxon historical heritage of Transylvania, which was severely damaged during the dictatorship. Following the fall of communism, the fund is dedicated to the renovation of these magnificent, lost and out-of-time Saxon villages and the promotion of local tourism by opening the doors to the visitors. The fund works with various local and international architects, even though their most illustrious donor is of course Prince Charles of England who bought many Houses in the region to turn them into pensions and where he travels regularly.
