This is the capital's oldest inn. Right in the middle of Lipscani, this vast caravanserai(han), built in 1808 by a wealthy Armenian merchant by the name of Manuc Bey, was the meeting point for foreign merchants passing through Bucharest (Jews, Turks, Bulgarians, Greeks...). Completely renovated in 2007, it now houses, among other shops, a restaurant serving traditional specialties. But it's above all to enjoy the ambience of the place that you come to sit here, in the central courtyard or under the brick vaults inside.

Superbe terrasse pour déjeuner à Bucarest. La formule du midi est excellente pour un très bon prix ( une vingtaine de lei). Il faut goûter la bière de la maison et profiter de la sérénité du lieu.

C'est surtout pour le lieu, un caravansérail construit en 1808 par un marchand arménien, qu'il faut passer le porche de ce bâtiment historique qui a survécu aux grands travaux délirants de Ceausescu. Le restaurant a perdu de son intérêt depuis quelques années, mais on peut y boire une bière avec quelques mititei, familièrement appelées "mici", de "petites" saucisses grillées sans peau constituées d'un mix boeuf-porc-agneau au gout relevé de sarriette, poivre, paprika, etc...
