THE PARISH OF MUYAGA

Only 4 km from Cankuzo in the south is Muyaga, its spiritual and Educational appendix. It is the oldest Christian settlement in Burundi, which dates from the missionary penetration company in the east by the Dutch father Johannès-Michael Van der Burgt from 1896. His longevity was not won at the time of his foundation and the fathers who had created him nearly several times abandoned him. Yet today, it is still a very Living Church, one of those with the greatest number of consecrated places in the country.
