HANGPADURI HANGMONG

This historic site honors the memory of the independent Korean forces(Sambyeolcho) who resisted the Mongol invaders in the ^18th century. After suffering a crushing defeat at their base in Jeollanam-do province, they set sail for Jeju Island. Today, the remains of this once-built fortress(Hanpaduseong) can be found here, along with a small but interesting exhibition hall. In the middle of the pretty garden stands a monument commemorating these patriotic Koreans. Not a must-see, but instructive!
