Located about fifteen kilometers south-west of Yazd, towards Taft, and built at the foot of the mountainous foothills of Chir Kouch, the village houses a dozen families of Zoroastriens, located in their gutted houses. The population is aging, with most people leaving the place for large urban centers. The community, however, is focused on agriculture and sheep and goat farming, but the community maintains millennia with a fire temple set in the heart of the commune. A cypress of the xivth century, a sacred tree par excellence, indicates the presence. It is an opportunity to immerse itself in the daily lives of those faithful, where agriculture plays a central role. Respect for the natural elements, imposed by zoroastrism, recalls the most contemporary ecological concepts. See also the crop of grenadiers, a symbol of abundance whose barks are used for carpet design and the feeding of sacred fire. Visit the site of the impressive towers of silence nearby. Apart from the current village, a trail leads, at the foot of the mountain, to an old village abandoned to old ceremonial ceremonial buildings, dominated by a tower in which the fire was maintained three days after the funeral ceremonies, until the early 1970 s.
