A very rich ethnographic and entomological collection has been built up over the years, forming a reference heritage and the permanent collection of the museum which also hosts temporary thematic exhibitions. This national museum is financed by the State. As for the ASBL Dialogues, which has installed its contemporary art gallery, it is subsidized by the Rachel Forrest Foundation. Africa Museum in Brussels also collaborates with the Museum of Lubumbashi for the development of this historical, artistic and cultural heritage of Katanga.
