Ancud is the gateway to Chiloé. It was for a long time a mythical land of wizards and the capital of the island until 1982. This small city with an undeniable charm allows to understand the history and the mythology of the region. First, go to the Regional Museum of Ancud to learn more about the Chilean culture, then go to the Fort San Antonio to admire the horizon. The tourist office will give you some leaflets on accommodation, maps and information on tourist sites.
