MAHATMA GANDHI MANDAPAM

Built on the spot where the urn containing the ashes of the Mahatma was exposed to the public, before its immersion in the sea. The memorial was designed so that on Gandhi's birthday (October 2), the first rays of the sun would fall on the exact spot where the ashes of the Father of the Nation were located. On the roof, one can enjoy a beautiful view of the city. It seems that the building is frequently repainted, one must hope, because the bright pink color that it displayed at the time of our visit is in complete contrast with its environment.
