ERAVIKULAM NATIONAL PARK

This national park is home to elephants, lion-tailed macaques and especially Nilgiri tahrs (mountain goats that can only be found in these mountains). When the neerakurinji blooms, it covers the whole park with a purple carpet. However, you should know that the real authorized area in the park is limited to a few kilometers beyond the main gate. This is not mentioned by the local tourist office, nor by the cab that takes you to the park... and you will probably have to wait in a long queue before you can board a bus.
