Travel Guide Talaat N’yacoub

125 km south of Marrakech, this hamlet of over 7,700 inhabitants is located in the province of Al Haouz. For many years, it was a gathering place for shepherds from the many douars and ksours in the surrounding area. The commune has no urban center, but its main town is the village of Amegdoul, some sixty kilometers to the south. Just outside the village, the ruins of a 15th-century kasbah, erected in homage to the Mahdi, dominate the valley and overlook the wadi. Far off the beaten tourist track, this hamlet is a small haven of peace and tranquillity, with a warm welcome.
