Dourbeye (pronounced "Dourbi"), a small town in the Far North, around 25 km from Nigeria, acts as a border post between the two countries. Coming from Rhumsiki and Bourrha, you'll have to pass through customs before continuing on the road to Mayo Oulo and Guider, 60 km away. The road is still in good condition, but in several places there are sections under repair, so be careful. The scenery along the road is still magnificent, with fields of phantasmagorically shaped granite boulders amidst which you can make out hamlets. At nightfall, it's not uncommon to see bush fires lighting up the horizon.
