Lava flow on the road between Limbé and Idenau, 2000.
When Mount Cameroun erupted in 2000, a lava flow spilled onto the road linking Limbé to Idenau. The road has now been rebuilt around the lava flow, making it impossible to miss. Crossing the lava flow is exhilarating, and as you climb, the panorama reveals the black lava flow, covered with almost phosphorescent green grass, enthroned among palm and rubber plantations, and if the sky is clear, the island of Malabo (Equatorial Guinea) and Mount Cameroun.

Originality
Real tourist trap. Not much to see especially that the vegetation harks back to the top and casting disappears gradually into the landscape. Interesting only for faded trekking. The price is a little exaggerated because layout is more than basic. Most spectacular is next to the site is the lava which stopped abruptly right on tarmac road, and there is free. Visit only going in Debunsha.
