KOMSOMOLSKAYA SQUARE

The square is adorned with a monument in honour of the heroes of the Civil War. Opposite him is the library, dating from 1886, in the typical red brick style of the region. You admire the very recent Assumption Cathedral, whose blue roof is visible from many points in the city. From Komsomolskaya Square you can see the impressive Cathedral of the Transfiguration, also recently built in a similar style to the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.
