Simatai is 110 miles from Beijing. This portion of the wall has just undergone major renovations, more or less successful. Personally, we regret the disappearance of the "wild" side of this site for something much more "standardized". Nevertheless, this is always a nice place to walk. Here it will take about 3 hours, and you won't encounter big difficulties. Every 50 m on the wall, small salesmen offer water and postcards, so useless to load up for the climb.
