PLAGES DE SANTANDER

To the west of the town, the golden sandy beaches of Sardinero and Magdalena are absolutely clean and large enough to avoid overcrowding in summer. At the tip of Somo, the beach of Puntal is almost annexed by Santanderinos in summer. It can be reached from Santander by boat (about 15 minutes) or on foot from Somo. There are also boats to Somo, a pleasant resort town which also has its own beach, and to its neighbour Pedreña, famous for its very select golf course, where Ballesteros made his first putts.
