Beautiful hotel housed in the former San Esteban Salesian convent, with rooms, library and restaurant.
The former convent of San Esteban Salesian, built in the 16th century, houses one of the most beautiful hotels in Salamanca. Its thick sandstone walls from Villamayor (a neighboring village) house the reception, the library, the restaurant (housed in the convent's old kitchen) and part of the rooms. The adjoining building, from the mid-19th century, houses the rest of the rooms. The view of the Salamanca Cathedral from some of the rooms and the pool is very impressive.

Pas tout à fait à la hauteur d'un cinq étoiles
Nous avons réservé dans cet hôtel pour avoir particulièrement apprécié notre séjour dans l'hôtel que la même chaîne exploite à Cordoue. Mais les deux ne sont pas comparables. Autant l'accueil est efficace (grâce en particulier à Angel), le bâtiment lui-même très beau, autant la taille des chambres et leur équipement n'est pas digne d'un 5 étoiles : une seule bouteille d'eau pour un séjour de 4 nuits, produits d'hygiène au compte-goutte (un petit paquet de mouchoirs en papier dans la salle de bains !) L'accès à la piscine était interdit et quand on a voulu aller à la salle de sport, on s'est retrouvé dans les vestiaires du personnel car la salle n'existe plus ! Reste que l'hôtel est très bien placé pour visiter Salamanque à pied, que le prix du parking sur place est abordable, que le buffet du petit-déjeuner est complet (mais le jus d'orange est "allongé" d'eau !)
