LA VEGUILLA

These festivities take place on the day of the "petit" Monday of Easter (Lunes of Pascuilla), eight days after Easter, with the procession of the Virgen de la Vega (the holy patron of the city), in the streets by the local peñas. In the afternoon, the crowd gathered on the Plaza Mayor and surrounding area asks the mayor (present on the mayor's balcony) Toro Enmaromado (attached by a rope), to the screams of "Toro, toro, toro". The mayor gives them so that the Toro Enmaromado party can take place 51 days later.
