Itanos (officially Erimoupolis) is part of the municipality of Sitia. It is here that in ancient times the mighty city of Itanos was developed, whose remains are scattered all over the region. Right next to the archaeological site are the three beautiful bays of Erimoupolis. The road leads to the middle beach. After crossing the site of the ancient Itanos, we come across the first beach, to the south: it is not organized, the sand is white and the waters are clear and calm. It is recognizable by the natural palm trees that grow around the marsh. To the north, the longest and most popular beach is located.
