Lake in the center of the city of Agios Nikolaos.
Located in the centre of the city, it is 64 m deep. According to the legend, Artemis and Athena washed their hair there while some of the inhabitants of the city will tell you that it has no bottom... In 1867, the local governor of Christian religion, Pasha Kostas Adossidis, built a canal to connect it to the sea a few meters away. Today it is a small inland sea with always blue waters. At nightfall, they are reflected on the small cliff that surrounds it. Many restaurants have been set up on the lake shore.

A ne pas rater, sous aucun prétexte; c'est mon site coup de coeur parmi toute la Crète. Près du petit pont qui sépare le lac de la mer, vous pouvez vous assoir à une terrasse et profiter de l'ambiance bon enfant voire intimiste, du lieu.

Un site inattendu en Crète. ce lac est tout proche de la mer est a 64 mètres de profondeur. il est agréable de flâner autour et de s'arrêter dans un café ou un restaurant. Un endroit calme et atypique.
very pretty interior lake, splendid view at the top of lake and foot (a shame that the restaurants are too many)
