We stumbled upon this lovely tree covered upscale Greek restaurant in Heraklion during our first night. The restaurant is a calm, serene oasis in a gritty seaside city with delicious food (tuna tartar, veal ragout in risotto), splendid attentive service, great wine list with several local choices and, to top it off, they treated us to complimentary crème brûlée! Highly recommend.

Ένα απ τα καλύτερα μαγαζιά του Ηρακλείου για ποτό και ειδικότερα κοκτέιλ! Προσεγμένη ατμόσφαιρα και επιλεγμένο προσωπικό! Ειδικά ο Θεόφιλος και ο Νίκος ήταν εξυπηρετικότατοι! Πολλά μπράβο στη διεύθυνση για το στήσιμο του μαγαζιού!

Une super soirée entre amis... Un accueil chaleureux avec le sourire par le personnel tous plus adorable les uns que les autres , une cuisine très sympa ... dans une ambiance festive à la déco soignée.

ideal location for all day. brunch in the morning, an aperitivo in the afternnon and a date night. nice ambience, amazing food and excellent customer service. all barmen are well trained and it is obvious they like what they do. shout out to our barman dimitris for his recommendations

επισκέφτηκα το Χαλάβρο για ποτο. Πολύ ωραία ατμόσφαιρα και όμορφος χώρος ο λόγος που έβαλα ένα * στην εξυπηρέτηση ήταν διότι επιλέξαμε ένα τραπέζι ακριβώς δίπλα στο μπαρ καθώς περιμέναμε να ετοιμαστούν τα ποτά μας η κοπέλα που έκανε ρανερ ποτού έτρωγε τα αγγούρια τα καρότα και τα ποπ κορν πάνω από τον δίσκο της που συνόδευαν τα ποτά των πελατών καθώς περίμενε να της ετοιμάσουν όλη την παραγγελία για να παραδοθεί στον πελάτη. Μας έκανε τρομερή εντύπωση και άσχημη εικόνα πιο πολύ γτ γνώριζε ότι είχαμε απευθείας επαφή με το πάσο της. Όταν έφτασε η ώρα της πληρωμής αγανάκτησαμε να βρούμε έναν σερβιτόρο να πληρώσουμε καθώς ήταν όλοι προσηλωμένοι στα κινητά τους. Είναι ένα πολύ ωραίο μαγαζί και το προτιμούσα συχνά για ποτό αλλά η εικόνα της ρανερ μου έριξε τις προσδοκίες μου για να το ξανά επιλέξω.

Endroit sympa et « branché ». Les plats sont revisités et la qualité est au rendez vous. L’ambiance est très cosy et le déjeuner a l’extérieur un vrai plaisir. Le personnel est sympathique.

Great find right in the middle of the city. Excellent food, very well priced. The Gnocchi and Risotto were excellent.

Nice atmosphere, especially at night. Friendly staffing, cocktails could be a bit stronger, independent of the gender who orders it. Food was okay, a bit too exotic for my taste but that is always a subjective perspective which doesn't mean, that the food is not good in it's quality. All in all we had a good time and therefore went twice there.

Για καφέ κ γλυκό πήγαμε....όλα τέλεια, ησυχία αν κ τόσο κοντά στο κέντρο, ευγένια, χαλαρή μουσική, δροσιά κ ποιότητα!!!

We stopped by chance after the Archeological Museum visit, and enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The food is almost fine dining level, using local ingredients, beautiful craft plates. A nice shady courtyard, with delicate design. I recommend to try even for cocktails.

I just had a wonderful lunch at Xalavro open bar.
At the beginning I was a bit disappointed that my pancetta/pork belly was not well rendered. (It looked great, but The meat was very fatty with no crispy layer. When i asked if they could put it back in the pan for a while, to crisp up, that was not possible. Maybe it is a cultural thing, but in Holland chefs never have a problem to give it some more heat/cooking.
It was a shame, because the flavours were absolutely there. I had to leave my pancetta.
Luckily the manager noticed and asked me if i wanted something else of the menu. I felt a bit doubtful but luckily he convinced me.
I then had the tuna tartar, which was the best I ever had. It was so well balanced and refined! Absolutely delicious!
Finally i got a beautiful orange flavoured crème brûlée on the house. The pancetta wasn’t charged either.
I want to give the staff and the manager a big thumbs up for spinning this around. At first I wanted to leave asap. But now I am looking forward to come back with friends and to try the other dishes.
