The medina of Mahdia is one of the most pleasant in Tunisia where it is very pleasant to stroll. Its structure is organized in two east-west peripheries: one that starts from the Skifa el Kahla and ends at the place of the great mosque. It gathers the public spaces that are the cafes, the workshops of craftsmen (we count a hundred today), the hammam and the mosque. The other space dedicated to housing reaches west of the Skifa to the limits of the marine cemetery. The medina has six mosques within it.

Hormis les boutiques touristiques, vous découvrirez toute la richesse de l’artisanat de Mahdia à travers les très nombreux bijoutiers et ateliers de tissage : bijoux d’or, d’argent et d’ambre ; tissus de coton, en soie et fils d’or, aux couleurs vives et variées
