The necropolis of Pupput is one of the largest Roman necropolis in Africa. This Roman city was located at the crossroads of the roads linking Clipea (today Kélibia) to Thuburbo Majus and Carthage to Hadrumète (today Sousse). On a surface of 7000 m², more than 1500 burials have been counted since the 1996 excavations. The main period of activity of the site covers the 2nd and 3rd centuries. The burial of children in amphorae was common. We can see on this site of the necropolis of Pupput some beautiful mosaics.
