Of Malekite rite, the Great Mosque was built by the Andalusians in 1616. Its particularity lies in the preservation of its Andalusian style even today: it has a rounded tile roof and its minaret is square. Inside, we can see a vault resting on columns with capitals, remains of the ancient city of Gummi (nearby). The mihrab, vaulted in shell, is surrounded by polychrome carved scrolls. Soliman has another mosque, of Hanafite rite. Its octagonal minaret was destroyed by bombings, then rebuilt.
