FORUM

Built in the 2nd century A.D., this square (not to be confused with the old forum located further west), which has preserved a pavement in good condition, naturally attracts the eye because of the triumphal arch of Trajan. This was erected in 116 AD to the glory of the Roman emperor. Behind the arch are the basilica of Hildegunds and its Byzantine burials, as well as the large thermal baths of the south, whose good conservation makes it possible to distinguish the typical elements of the time (palestra, frigidarium), the whole decorated with mosaics.
