The Sidi Bou Makhlouf mausoleum is a zawiya built at the foot of the ramparts of the city's kasbah in the 17th century. Its minaret is octagonal and its cupolas ribbed, and the mausoleum is covered with two white domes connected inside by arches resting on ancient columns. The interior decoration is made of chiseled stucco and ceramic tiles. The tomb of Sidi Bou Makhlouf, a pious person considered the patron saint of the city, is a place of devotion.
