The climate of La Garita is not for nothing in the location of this luxurious spa. The Garita is known for its mild and drier climate than the rest of the Valley. A little expensive, but when you want to find a second youth…

I frequently dine at this hotel's restaurant, but today's experience was the worst. One dish had an unpleasant taste; despite the waiter assuring us it could be replaced, we were later charged for the dish they supposed to replace. When questioned about why they are charging us for the dish they said they'll replace, the waiter said that he would be personally charged otherwise ????????♂. It's disappointing that they lied to us saying that they will change the dish, but also they offered no apology whatsoever. Apparently they preffer to lose customers and get bad rating rather than provide good service... Laughable...

My experience at La Focaccia de Martino Restaurant, located in the Martino Hotel in Garita de Alajuela, has undoubtedly been the most disheartening I have ever encountered. Following a pleasant day with my partner, we decided to visit this establishment, which had previously garnered our favor. However, my choice of a risotto with saffron, mushrooms, and shrimp turned out to be a culinary misstep. From the first bite, the dish exuded an unsettling flavor reminiscent of Maggi broth, with an abnormally watery consistency, an unpleasant yellow hue, and a simply repulsive aroma. Expressing my discontent to the waiter on duty, Dixon, the plate was promptly removed, only to be returned with a somewhat ambiguous explanation that the addition of shrimp had altered its flavor profile. This assertion seemed dubious, as I had ordered the same combination without issue on prior occasions. Despite this, my companion had finished their dish, and when inquiring about potential solutions, the option to change the order was offered. I opted for spaghetti with pesto and chicken, a choice that, although lacking excellence, was tolerable, especially after an excessive wait exceeding 20 minutes. The unpleasant surprise came when receiving the bill, where I was charged for the dish I had not consumed. Requesting the necessary correction, Dixon refused, arguing that the responsibility for payment rested on me or would be deducted from his salary. This act of unethical behavior culminated when, upon requesting the dish in question, it was tossed onto the counter with a gesture of disdain and arrogance. This incident left me feeling like a victim of outright robbery, compelled to pay for a defective dish and enduring the affront of inappropriate treatment. The disappointment I harbor is so profound that the decision not to return to this establishment is irrevocable, and the disapproval we will share with family and friends will be resolute. Such conduct constitutes an unacceptable and intolerable abuse.
