TAIPA HOUSE MUSEUM
This row of colonial houses of the 1920 s leans on a hill, at the top of which is the church of Notre-Dame-du-Carmel, dating back to the th century. The houses, once aligned along the seafront, shaded by banians, plunge us into a bygone era. Today, the seashore has envasé over a large part and the constructions block the sight. The small museum shows the way of life of Portuguese families at the beginning of the th century. The furniture reveals an interesting marriage of the two cultures: a piano next to a Chinese sofa in carved rose wood, an application-Dieu beside a bed-bed bed… The house exalts a particular atmosphere. A visit not to be missed. Besides, there is the Islands museum, a Portuguese ethnographic museum, an exhibition gallery.
