HOTEL LISBOA
The famous Casino Lisboa is a symbol of Macau (one of the city's first casinos), a large complex of over 1 000 rooms to the giant artichoke architecture founded by Stanley Ho. On the ground floor, a circular arcade is slightly overlooking the huge main round hall where you have to walk down a few steps to get through the colourful crowd. At the entrance, ladies ladies try their luck to slot machines… For the Westerners, the decor may seem a little kitsch but so secluded! Every 15 minutes, half-Timbered Russian dancers show themselves on a small scene… The show "French cancan" strangely reminds us of big Parisian scenes… cheap! It hosts many Chinese from the mainland and from Hong Kong. Private salons are reserved for Baccarat enthusiasts, while others prefer the tables of plasma dai («big and small»), fan tan (porcelain chips) and pai (Chinese domino). The Lisboa is also one of the few places in Macau equipped with a roulette wheel. Collectors will be able to take pleasure, bringing a small bottle of water from the Casino Lisboa. Don't worry, proper dress is not necessarily required to enter the casino. Some are walking even in flip-flops!
