As a result of a typhoon, or during the Chinese new year, the shelter is crowded with jonques, sampans and other boats coming to refuge. But some boats, some inhabited by the same family for generations, remain on-the-year. Increasingly, this traditional and traditional place tends to become the private domain of yachts.
