Travel Guide Queshi 礐石

Shantou enjoys an exceptional geographical location, between sea (many beaches) and mountains. In a few minutes, you can find yourself outside the city, surrounded by fruit trees. First step, Queshi, a city known for its mysterious rocks. Queshi means «massive rocks» in Chinese. To admire the landscape, climb up to the peak of Xianglu Feng, which reaches 198 metres. Some of these rocks are inscribed as calligraphy of historic characters. This steep terrain, consisting of cliffs and ravines, is very spectacular: Visit the famous caves of Chuihong (垂虹洞, chuihong dong) and Flower de la Fleur de la Fleurs (桃花涧, taohua jian), known as the finest granitic specimens of China.
