SITE OF THE MILITARY GOVERNMENT OF THE 1911 REVOLUTION

After the success of the Wuchang insurrection led by Sun Yat-sen in 1911, a provisional military government was installed in Wuhan from October 10, 1911 to January 1912, when a new government was formed in Beijing.

The building is a two-tier red brick structure known as the "red building" (Hong Lou). Today, there is a permanent exhibition showing the events of Wuchang's insurrection through time documents.
