It is difficult to begin the visit of Cagliari otherwise than by its historic centre: Castello. This fortified house built by the Pisans in the th century surrounds what was once the administrative heart of Cagliari. Of the three entrance towers, there are only two (the Torre dell'Elefante and Torre San Pancrazio), the third (the Eagles Tower) was demolished in the th century.
