BASILICA DI SANTA MARIA DELLA NEVE

The origins of this basilica are shrouded in mystery. Legend has it that it was built in the 13th century to house a statue of the Virgin and Child that washed up on a nearby beach. Writings from the 15th century mention the existence of this church. But the present structure dates from the 16th century, without any previous trace. A final remodelling in the 18th century gave it its Baroque style. It offers a wonderful view of the sea.
