NURAGHE ALBUCCIU

Only three kilometers from Arzachena, this nuraghe of the 15th century B.C. presents a "corridor" typology related to the proto-nuraghes. Well hidden under the olive trees, it is worth a visit. Situated on the top of a hill, as required by its role as a defensive structure, the nuraghe offers an unobstructed view of the plain of Arzachena. It is in relatively good condition despite some collapsed parts. One can still access its two floors. The tholos ceiling of the large elliptical room is a later addition. A village of 80 huts lies at the foot of the nuraghe.
