The Ligue d'Alsace de Rugby is a sports organization based in Châlons-en-Champagne. It offers rugby-related competitions and events in the Grand Est region. The first name chosen in 1967 was Sport Club de Sélestat, but in 2008 the region lent its support, requesting that the team no longer be the team of central Alsace, but the team of all Alsatians. The club reached the French First Division championship in the 1990-1991 season, where it played for a total of 22 seasons until 2017. For the 2017-2018 season, the club was relegated to the Proligue (second division).
