Situated at the center of a vast fruit-growing (citrus in particular) and wine-producing area, Mildura lies on the northeastern edge of the Outback. It is a major town in the Murray Valley, with a population of over 34,000. Its pleasant riverside town center, with its main thoroughfare, Deakin Avenue, boasts numerous restaurants, cafés and bars. It's a great place to stroll in the evening, to discover Mildura's nightlife - mainly at weekends. Parallel to this, between 8th Street and 9th Street, Langtree Avenue becomes an attractive pedestrian street where you can stroll all day long.
