HISTORICAL AND FOLKLORE MUSEUM

The museum, which is very local, was founded in 1962 thanks to a patron of the arts and is a well-known cultural institution. It traces the history of the island from the early 15th century and the museum's mission is to keep alive the memory of how Kefalonia lived before the terrible earthquake of 1953. Among the many exhibits: documents, collections of personal objects, tools of farm life, maps, lithographs and watercolours.
