FÊTE DE THEOTOKOS DRAPANIOTISSA

Theotokos Myrtidiotissa is honored in Cephalonia at the church of the Virgin Mary of Drapano. The patron saint of Argostoli, the capital of the island, he is also known as "Panagia of Drapano" or simply "Drapaniotissa". His feast day is celebrated on September 24, when ceremonies are held in his honour. A procession leaves the church in the evening and travels over the Drapano bridge and through the streets of Argostol. A prayer is said in the main square.
