Be careful, island difficult to access! The island is most often an excursion destination from the neighbouring island of Lemnos (the fastest link, only 1h20 of crossing). Otherwise, from Athens, the island is accessible twice a week from Lavrio (8 hours of crossing) with Hellenic Seaways (hellenicseaways.gr). It is actually on the sea route to the port of Kavala in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, which serves the island of Lemnos. From Kavala, two weekly flights with Hellenic Seaways (5 hours of crossing).
