2 km west of Gialos, this fishing village (also known as Emborio or Emporio) is sheltered from the wind by the Diapora isthmus. A trading port in ancient times, it boasts pebble mosaics and the ruins of a temple dedicated to Zeus. Today, it's home to just a few houses, a beach and a seafront café. A number of chic establishments offer accommodation and restaurants at the entrance to the bay. A pleasant coastal road leads from Gialos on foot. Along the way, you can stop for a swim between the rocks (there are steps carved into the rock). The bay's waters are crystal-clear!
